I didn't this joke was that bad. Or rather, I don't think I would have if I knew what an exoplanet astronomer was before reading this. One other panel of actual exoplanet astronomer things, maybe labeled "exoplanet astronomers during the daytime" would have made the joke clearer and better. Some background would also be nice, so that it's more obvious that she's outside, looking at the ground, rather than inside the
featureless white house that most XKCDs take place in.
